After School Programs

The Young Women on the Move after-school program meets each Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Armstrong Avenue, Kansas City, KS. Bus transportation is provided by USD 500. The program at this time serves the following schools:

Argentine Middle School
Central Middle School
Rosedale Middle School
J.C. Harmon High School
Wyandotte High School
F.L. Schlagle High School

Young women at Harmon, F.L. Schlagle, and Wyandotte High Schools are invited to apply for membership in group sessions that meet weekly during school hours. For more information, please contact us.

Girls, Senior Citizens Share Holiday Love

The residents of Cross Lines Retirement Center in Argentine provided a valuable lesson in caring to all the members of Young Women on the Move on December 9. Forty young women, ages 11-18, entertained residents with singing of Christmas carols. The girls then distributed small gift bags to the 200 residents while engaging in one-on-one conversations. Love, energy and excitement filled the room.
