After School ProgramsThe Young Women on the Move after-school program meets each Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Armstrong Avenue, Kansas City, KS. Bus transportation is provided by USD 500. The program at this time serves the following schools:
Young women at Harmon, F.L. Schlagle, and Wyandotte High Schools are invited to apply for membership in group sessions that meet weekly during school hours. For more information, please contact us. How to JoinAre you a young woman enrolled at one of these schools? Do you ever dream of being somebody special or accomplishing something great with your life? Do you want to learn to believe in yourself and the possibilities for your life, develop a plan and learn how to follow it to accomplish your dreams? If you do, we are looking for you because we want to help you so you can learn to help others! You can help us start a chain reaction. You can change the world - one girl at a time - starting with you! The program is currently available for young women at the following schools in Kansas City, Kansas USD 500:
Young women enrolled in these schools can join the program by contacting their principal, advocate or school social worker. Parental permission is required for membership in the after-school program.
