After School Programs

The Young Women on the Move program meets weekly and currently serves the following schools:

  • Northwest Middle School
  • Argentine Middle School
  • Central Middle School
  • Rosedale Middle School
  • J.C. Harmon High School
  • Wyandotte High School
  • F.L. Schlagle High School

Mary Beth Gentry

Executive Director and Founder

Mary Beth Gentry is founder and executive director of Young Women on the Move, Inc. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, B.S. in Human Ecology, University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics, R.D. Dietetics, and the University of Kansas, Master's Certificate in Community Health and Development, Department of Applied Behavioral Sciences. She is president of Empower for Health Partners, Inc., the founding organization of Young Women on the Move, Inc. Previous positions include assistant dean for external affairs at the KU School of Medicine; director of development for Mackay School of Mines, University of Nevada; chief nutritionist for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and owner of retail establishments in Columbia, Missouri.
