After School Programs

The Young Women on the Move program meets weekly and currently serves the following schools:

  • Northwest Middle School
  • Argentine Middle School
  • Central Middle School
  • Rosedale Middle School
  • J.C. Harmon High School
  • Wyandotte High School
  • F.L. Schlagle High School

Young women at participating schools are invited to apply for membership in group sessions that meet weekly during school hours. For more information, please contact us. Don't forget to watch our video!

Volunteer Opportunities

We want to make your volunteer experience with Young Women on the Move as meaningful and convenient as possible. Individuals and groups are welcome to volunteer, whether corporate, church or community service groups. Volunteer times are flexible to accommodate your busy schedule. Listed are Young Women on the Move volunteer opportunities:

Facilitator Aide Assist the Young Women on the Move faciltiators with weekly programing while interacting with the participants.

Health, Wellness and Personal Development Speakers/Skill Development Share your knowledge and profession with the participants in areas, such as Health, Nutrition & Fitness, Healthy Relationships, Communication Skills, Social Skills, Money Management, Problem-Solving, Decision Making, Academic Enrichment, or Career Exploration, Teaching Crafts, Personal Grooming, Etiquette and Fashion

Mentoring Work with participants one-on-one, online mentoring or job shadowing.

Organizational Support Volunteer using your skills such as office support, graphic design, printing, videography, computer assistance, accounting, marketing, public relations, fundraising and event planning for special events.

Miscellaneous Opportunities

  • Provide Youth Employment: summer and/or part-time
  • Provide Counseling, social services, academic and career
  • Assist with field trip opportunities to enhance healthy life skills
  • Assistance with service-learning activities
